AngioSuite Goes Global On November 1, 2011

Knoxville, TN (PRWEB) November 01, 2011

AngioSuite, a division of Cascade Medical, is pleased to announce the global launch of their iPhone and iPad app to users around the world. This free download, available on iTunes, is changing the way neuro-interventionalists perform aneurysm coiling procedures. The AngioSuite application offers precise aneurysm sizing, accurate packing density calculations, catheter compatibility analyses, and automated occlusion calculations. The app also aids in case tracking and management and can operate without internet connectivity.

Dr. Keith Woodward, himself a neuro-interventionalist, created the application with the idea of improving his packing densities while coiling aneurysms. After years of estimating percentages, he developed the app to assist him in real-time during aneurysm coilings. A two-dimensional angiogram working image is photographed with either the iPhone or iPad and turned into a three-dimensional angiographic model. Manual entry of sizing data from existing 3-D images is also possible. Utilization of the app has enabled Dr. Woodward to achieve higher packing densities in his own practice.

Reaction to the app in the United States has been overwhelmingly positive. Dr. Blaise Baxter, a neuro-interventionalist , exclaims AngioSuite is an essential tool in aneurysm coiling. It is the most reliable method of calculating the aneurysm volume. Using this tool I have been able to achieve consistently higher packing densities which will hopefully translate into less aneurysm recurrences and retreatments. Also, by using AngioSuite for coil selection, I have almost eliminated coil wastage due to incorrect sizing. Its very user friendly and doesnt require a lot of data input time.
