Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 10, 2011

Any Dallas native is familiar with the Thanksgiving tradition of the Capital One Bank Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot, where nearly 40,000 people gather every year to run, walk, and gobble down the citys streets on Thanksgiving morning. What they may not be familiar with however, is the new digital spin on this years race. While entrants will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most people dressed as turkeys, the event planners (including wild child mascot, Tommy the Turkey) have formed an online contest to intensify the fun.

Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter users, bloggers, and anyone else with access to a computer are urged to take part is the record-setting fun by submitting any digital content to be considered for prizes. Entries could include video instructions for making the proper Turkey dressing (costumes for the record setting race day), or real turkey dressing packed with carbohydrates fit for runners. The YMCA team who is judging the online contest will be looking for Turkey Trot themed singing and dancing, how-to videos, fitness and race preparation tips, stories of Trot family traditions, and anything else relevant.

Prizes will include autographed Texas Rangers paraphernalia, Capital One Bank tool kits, Turkey Trot collectible merchandise, and more! All bloggers who help create excitement for this years event by sharing an article about the Capital One Bank Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot on their blog will receive a long-sleeve Turkey Trot t-shirts.
