Business Analytics & Enterprise Software Publishing: More Firms Will Rely On Industry Software, But Cloud Computing May Hurt Profit

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 01, 2011

Revenue for the Business Analytics and Enterprise Software Publishing industry is expected to increase to $ 32.1 billion during the five years to 2016, according to IBISWorld, the nations largest publisher of industry research. Continued strength in corporate profit, coupled with limited opportunities for growth given the weak demand environment, will drive firms to invest in streamlining operations. This strategy aims to boost profitability, rather than expansion operations that are designed with growth in mind.

The Business Analytics and Enterprise Software Publishing industry in the United States remains strong, despite the hiccups of the 2009 recession. Revenue is expected to be $ 27.3 billion in 2011, representing an increase of 10.7% from 2010. While the annualized five-year growth rate is a more humble 5.2%, this industry has demonstrated that while it is vulnerable in economic slowdowns, it can do extremely well in improving economic conditions. In particular, the current economic climate is almost tailor-made to support this industry. Corporate profitability has risen, but consumer demand is stagnant, as individuals who are wracked with job insecurity are reticent to spend or go into debt. As a result, corporations are seeking to improve productivity rather than expand their scope. In fact, business intelligence software exists in order to improve operational effectiveness.

Nevertheless, the Business Analytics and Enterprise Software Publishing industry does face some looming threats. This industry's profitability hinges upon a price structure that is entirely divorced from production costs. While corporations are willing, so far, to support massive profit margins at enterprise software firms, excessive and prolonged profitability is unlikely. According to IBISWorld analyst, David Grimes, the threat is more likely to come from outside than within; this industry traffics in licenses for corporations to run software on their own computers. However, the growth of the cloud computing movement, best typified in this sector by Salesforce.com, threatens to chip away at this industry's profitability, says Grimes. Cloud computing offers slightly less-exorbitant pricing policies and reduced initial investments. While fears about data security and the costs of switching will likely keep existing customers where they are, new customers in the market for software solutions will increasingly look toward the cloud. Furthermore, there is a limit to the number of companies in need of enterprise software solutions; saturation may soon strike. While this industry generally charges annual subscription fees, indicating accumulative growth, that growth may slow dramatically. IBISWorld anticipates this trend will take place over the five years to 2016, with revenue set to grow at an average annual rate of 3.3% to $ 32.1 billion.

RN Pathways Celebrates National Nurses Day With Launch of New Digital and Human Network Focused on Helping More Nurses

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) May 6, 2009

Today marks National Nurses Day and the beginning of National Nurses' Week; this year's theme is "Nurses: Building a Healthy America." RN Pathways, one of the most unique nursing organizations in the United States, is celebrating with the launch a new network to further its mission of helping nurses build healthy careers.

"We chose to bring this new resource to the world on National Nurses Day because helping nurses and their families is our passion," said RN Pathways spokesperson Joe Cockrell. "Now more than ever, nurses want more than just a listing of jobs on a static job board- they want personal expert advice and guidance. RN Pathways provides that in a way that is already changing the industry."

The website is one component of a unique digital and human network that RN Pathways has formed over the last several months- especially by incorporating social media platforms (such as Facebook and Twitter) into daily communication with nurses who seek career advice.

"We offer solutions for nurses no matter what their preference- whether that be email and online communication or live conversations with a real person," Cockrell said. "With today's technology, those live conversations no longer have to be on the phone; we've seen a dramatic increase in veteran-level nurses engaging in social media online- soon we'll be connecting with just as many nurses on Facebook as we are over the phone."

As part of the celebration, RN Pathways also launched contest where nurses who register as new users on the RNpathways.com website can win an iPod touch. In addition, there is an online promotion for those who want to salute nurses during National Nurses Week; you can win a new MacBook

Even More Choice for Customers as Tesco Compare and Tesco Bank Work Closer Together

(PRWEB UK) 27 September 2011

Tesco Compare is pleased to be working with Tesco Bank to provide customers with even greater choice and transparency when they compare car insurance or home insurance quotes.

The new arrangement will give customers who have come to Tesco Bank for a car or home insurance quote the option to compare it against a wide range of providers through the price comparison site. Tesco Compare will also be able to provide further quote options for customers who the bank cannot cover due to their risk profile.

How does it work?

Within the Tesco Bank quote process, customers have the option to visit Tesco Compare at various stages when applying for car or home insurance. Importantly, they do not have to enter all their information on Tesco Compare; the system remembers their details, saving them time and hassle of starting the process from scratch.

Tesco Compare Commercial Director, Vikki Macleod, said: We are delighted to be working with Tesco Bank so we can give customers more choice when searching for insurance. Both companies strive to do the best for customers. This co-operation demonstrates our transparency and determination to achieve a great deal for customers.

Launched in 2007, Tesco Compare can find deals for customers from leading car and home insurance providers; it can also introduce people to many comparison services for products, including insurance, money, utilities and telecoms.

Search for summer autumn

Tesco Compare intends this autumn to continue to help people search for deals so they could save money. In addition to comparing by price, customers can compare by features and benefits through the quick and simple comparison service.

Summing up, Vikki Macleod, said: We are sure the new arrangement will embody the Tesco Bank spirit of treating customers fairly. During these tough financial times we appreciate that Every Little Helps can make a difference when finding deals on insurance and other financial products.

Tablet Users More Likely to Shop Online than Smartphone Owners

(PRWEB UK) 2 September 2011

The results show that 30% of tablet users have used their device to shop online, whilst currently only 25% of smartphone owners have used their phone to do the same. Similarly, almost half (48%) of tablet owners have used their devices to research products in-store, whilst only 29% have done the same via their smartphone.

Derek Eccleston, Research Director at eDigitalResearch comments, Whilst tablet device ownership remains relatively low compared to the number of consumers with smartphones, it is clear that tablet owners have the willingness and confidence to shop online via their devices.

As we continue to be gripped by the MEcommerce revolution where the consumer now has the power to shop where, when and how they like its important that brands and retailers have a strong presence across a multitude of channels, making their products readily available to customers across a range of devices and platforms. Net-a-Porter, ASOS and eBay are just a handful of retailers that have successfully launched shopping related tablet apps in recent months as more and more retailers begin to understand emerging platforms and grasp consumer behaviour across various touch points.

The results also reveal the eagerness of consumers to start using their mobile devices more for everyday tasks, including in-store purchases. Of the 6,000 consumers surveyed, over one quarter (27%) said that they will be willing to use contactless mobile payment when available to them, and almost half (47%) of these would be willing to pay for goods up to the value of
